Beauty Swap: Spring Link Up

I was so excited to see a lot of "old friends" and new faces in our Spring Beauty Swap. It was fun having Taysha of Dirt Road Charm host with me since we are both make-up specifically MAC lovers. For those of you wondering what a Beauty Swap is check out this link and then watch my blog and Crystal Cattle Facebook page for the announcement of when the next swap will be.

I was paired up with Lauren. Lauren and I met many years ago at the National Cattlemen's Beef Convention. Although, we haven't been able to cross paths face to face again, we stay in touch via social media. I loved what Lauren sent me!

Lauren definitely gets big points for presentation. She has gorgeous handwriting/calligraphy. I'll explain a little more about the "sparkle box" in a minute.

In just over a week the Boy and I are going to the Dominican Republic with some friends, so Lauren kept that in mind.

1. Moroccan Oil - I have actually used Moroccan Oil before and love it. Lauren't timing was perfect because I am almost out. My sister first introduced me to this product. She and I have really fine hair and one day I noticed how soft her hair was, and asked her secret. She told me Moroccan Oil. I was pretty skeptical that an oil would work on my fine hair, but it does. You only need a tiny amount, think dime size or less and then you work this through you hair, while it is wet, starting at mid shaft to the ends. My hair is softer, less frizzy and I think takes less time to blow dry when I use this product. I also love the Moroccan Oil brand hairspray.

2. Too Faced Beauty Balm - On a recent trip to Sephora I had tired this product, but hadn't purchased yet so I was so excited when Lauren included this beauty balm. She too was introduced to it via a previous Beauty Swap partner. It is perfect for those days that I want some coverage, but not wanting to apply foundation. Plus, it is SPF 30, which will be perfect for vacation. I have used the MAC Beauty Balm in the past, and I like how it wears, but there isn't one light enough for my fair completion. The Too Faced Snow Glow is perfect for me.

3. Aquaphor Lip Repair - Lauren lives in Arizona and said this is her favorite SPF lip balm. No one likes chapped or worse burnt lips so I am excited to use this product.

4. MAC Patent Lip Polish - I love this lipstick! It definitely has color, but feels kind of like a gloss, but has more staying power than a gloss. Make sense, lol? The color is Fearless and is the perfect pink shade, not hot pink, but not baby pink either. I recently, feature this lipstick in my Spring Five Favorites.

Now onto the sparkle box. This box was started by Erin Worrel, passed onto Melanie Acklin and then to Lauren. Now, it is in my possession. Each of their names and the date is wrote on the inside of the box. My next Beauty Swap partner will receive this box!

  2. I had the fortune of being paired up with Bekah from Cooped Up Creativity. Bekah is an amazing mother, wife, and quilter out of Wisconsin. It was sp much fun getting to know her. In my beauty box there was an adorable make up bag, treehut coconut lime body scrub, a facial scrub made from charcoal/sugar, two nail polishes (one in pretty pink and the other in a posh green), elf brightening eye shadow, elf lip gloss in goddess, and an elf eyeshadow brush. I love, love, love everything in this box. Thank you Bekah! Thank you Crystal Cattle and Dirt Road Charm! Until next time!

  4. Hey CC Beauty Swappers!! First off, THANK YOU to Crystal and Taysha for setting up this Beauty Swap! I added my link to my Facebook profile because I'm a slacker and didn't get a blog post put together... so you can find a pic of my Beauty Box on there or on my Instagram @dirtroaddreamer

This was my first time participating in the swap and I loved it!! I was paired up with Jen Hummel from Illionis--and we quickly found out how small the world gets! We know many of the same people and were surprised our paths hadn't crossed in person before!

Anyways, onto the goods! Jen packed the box for me FULL of so many awesome products!! There were Biore' self-heating minute masks, a two-stage brightening mask, John Frieda frizz eaze (which helps tame the mane a ton in the Montana gale force winds!), tinted lip balm from Nivea, pretty pearly turquoise nail polish, a rosy blush from City Color, and some moisturizer samples from Benefit and Bath and Body Works. Jen also included a nice zip top travel bag which will help a ton with packing cosmetics in carry ons and will work great in my purse too!

Thanks again to Jen for being my CC Beauty Swap partner! And another HUGE thanks to Crystal of Crystal Cattle and Taysha of Dirt Road Charm for this fun opportunity!! Looking forward to doing more in the future!

  5. I'm so glad you are enjoying everything! I had a great time putting them together. You rock the Fearless Lip Polish fabulously and will be so handy in the DR.

I'm loving my swap goodies! I got a pedi this weekend with the OPI teal polish and it turned out lovely! I've been playing with the Stila shadow set and it is so fun! Your diagram in the card is the best. ;) Thank you, thank you!

The sparkle swap box lives on!

  7. This was my first beauty swap and I was matched up with Kacie George from Iowa! She did such a great job with the products! First I have extremely sensitive skin, Simply Face Wash is something my skin is agreeing with (which is rare). I love natural products and it's hard to find one that doesn't have a perfume. Ladies, if you haven't heard of BolderBands, let me tell you go get one! Kacie picked up a paisley print one for me (my favorite pattern, I even named a heifer Paisley). I wear it all the time, it's so comfortable and stays in place. Great for everything from work to working out. I am a nail polish fanatic but haven't tried Essie out yet, and I totally love it. I received a teal shade called "Naughty Nautical," such a great spring and summer color. Something that Kacie sent me that I'm probably never living without is EOS lip balm. I guarantee this goes everywhere with me now! She also threw in a package of Reese's Eggs. Who doesn't love these? I'm a little ashamed of how fast they went!

Crystal and Taysha thanks so much for hosting a wonderful Beauty Swap! I can't wait for the next one! Also, thanks to Kacie for being such an amazing swap partner! You can also check out my beauty swap review on Instagram @piper_shelly

    1. So glad you swapped with us. I think EOS is now a favorite of all Crystal Cattle Beauty Swappers. You are going to love Essie nail polish. They always come up with great new colors. Target is a good place to purchase the Essie nail polish.

  11. First off, let just say I was delighted to see a package on my front porch after a long day at work. I am so happy I partook in the #ccbeautyswap – what a way to kickoff spring.

I was paired up with Ashley Murty. It was wonderful getting to know her as well as exchanging beauty tips. She sent me some great products to test out. I received some perfume and lipstick which I have yet to try as I am waiting for a night out with my girls to test it out. I also got some eyeliner; great timing as I was on the last few uses of mine. There was some shampoo/conditioner to help domestic this crazy mane – it has been a great product so far, not as many flyaways! We shall see how the hair does after a few track meets (#kswx). The final product in my box of goodies was some facial cleanser wipes. I use these all the time (after workouts, working in the yard, at the farm, etc.) you can never have too many packages. The travel size will be great for my raceday/track bag. *Go Team BEEF!*

Thanks for this fun opportunity to connect with other women and to experiment with a few beauty products. Can’t wait for another round…

  12. Jamie from This Uncharted Rhoade was my partner. My package was awesome, from the darling pink makeup bag to the lip balm, nail polish, chocolate egg, and lovely note. Definitely a bright spot to come home to that happy little box on my kitchen counter. :-) My favorite item was the sample of It's A 10 deep conditioner.
